Introduction to my work!

Darling, you're a haunted house!

  • A one page solo journaling game about being a haunted house powered by William Lentz' Second Guess System.

  • Designed as a part of my final project for my masters degree on investigating indie communities, design philosophies and analysing solo roleplaying games through a lens of queer games studies.

  • Fun fact: You can watch a performance and playthrough of the game on the EUphoria Channel!

TTRPG Projects

I can't hide it - I love solo roleplaying games! I love the mix of design, communicating with the player, and writing encounters/prompts.Where this current list revolves around solo RPGs, I am open to working on any RPG project and look to expand my portfolio for the better throughout 2025 ✨To keep up with my personal works be sure to check out my itch.io page: finley-jinley.itch.io!

Academia overview

My background in games studies assures that a lot of my work is typically thoroughly researched around the topics of design theory, queer studies/queer games studies and communities in specific relation to indie games design (both digital and analog).

  • The embedded video is a digital presentation I gave about my introductory research into solo games, their creation and queer studies

  • I have also done a couple of other talks - I spoke with the American Librarian Association about what solo RPGs looked like and how to engage with them in a library setting (and a bit about game jams!)

  • I was also at Muppetmeet, a TTRPG industry knowledge-sharing and networking event held in partnership with Dragonmee which ran on the 1st December 2024 where I gave a talk on queer games design - here's my slides for that talk.
